ITS NOT A HOBBY, ITS AN OBSESSION
We believe happy and healthy bees make better honey.
The European Honey Bee (Apis Melifera) is the only social insect whose "colony" can survive for many years. The majority of bees are solitary and do not ascribe to the hive model of day-to-day living and cannot be managed. Yet we depend on the human honey bee for our existence. Did you know bees are responsible for 1/3 of all the foods we eat through pollination? Unfortunately, honeybees are in decline due to habitat loss, chemical pesticides and diseases and parasites. You can read more here.
Our bees live a contented, work-life balanced existence enjoying their varied neighborhoods and forage while producing a varied, delectable unique honey. Outyards in various locations give us the opportunity to take advantage of local forage when in season.
Colonies are created from our local open mated queens from our best stock. We look for traits like survivability, hygienic behavior for varroa mite control as well as favorable traits for good buildup, weather tolerance of course and honey production.
(WHEN IN SEASON) WE HAVE AVAILABLE:
Locally Mated Queens
5 frame Nucleus colonies
Queen Cells
Honeybee Packages
SORRY, WE DO NOT SHIP LIVE QUEENS OR BEES AT THIS TIME.
